Last weekend was a very inspiring day at the Hoxton Hotel: the HoxHowTo design event styled by w/ Style Agency. You may have seen the Frama stools and bench used in our decoration concept. I love this Copenhagen based brand for its natural and detailed designs.
Copenhagen
Early January we visited Copenhagen. We had two wonderful but busy days so I was glad we booked an extra day. The morning before we left to the airport we had a few hours for a coffee and delicious lunch in town. Also to visit some stores from our wish list.
The Frama store was definitely one of the highlights. Online I already noticed the impressive wooden laboratory closet, filled with body care products in beautiful bottles. The store space is divided into several smaller rooms and corners. All equally beautiful, it feels more like an exhibition space than a shop. I made several rounds through the space and noticed beautiful new details every round.
Frama Studio operates in various creative fields, like furniture, ceramics, lighting, books and kitchens. They all have in common that they focus on natural materials, simple geometry and a general appreciation of permanency. At home, I am the lucky owner of small - but much appreciated - Frama design: the E27 table light. Made of bronze metal with a black textile cord.
The headquarters and Studio Store is located in central Copenhagen within the historic and protected neighbourhood of Nyboder. Located in a former pharmacy established in 1878. Other Frama Studio Stores are located in Oslo, Stockholm and New York.

Hoxton HoxHowTo design event
Last Sunday it finally happened: the HowHoxTo design event in the apartment space of the Hoxton hotel in Amsterdam. w/ Style Agency was part of this event and teamed with the friendly Hoxton staff for a day. After several brainstorms - and just as much truffle fries - in the Hoxton lobby, it was great to see our styling concept coming to life. We arrived early Sunday morning to unpack all the beautiful brands who participated in our styling and selected w/ Style collection.
We curated characteristic Scandinavian and Dutch interior | design brands to create a natural, minimal yet warm atmosphere. With attention for quality materials: warm wood, comfortable fabrics and rugged leather. With a touch of industrial and black, supplemented with a lot of greenery in old ceramic pots. The brands we collaborated with: Frama, Moebe, Paper Collective, SPRDLX, Miscellaneous, Just Right, Pillah, Leff Amsterdam, Elle Decoration, Nomess and Marie Stella Maris.
w/ Style was also asked to join a panel talk. Desiree and I participated in an interesting discussion about the balance between form and function in daily interiors, small living and cozy minimalism. The atmosphere was open and informal with enthusiastic attendees.
Travel Products Selected w/ Style
In the Moebe open selves we showcased our w/ Style selected travel products. Essentials we love to take with us when travelling. Easy in use, small and - lost but not least - beautiful and stylish: think about a leather Travellers notebook, healthy body care items, a firm laptop sleeve, portable music speakers and a solid watch.
The open kitchen was the central meeting point of the participants with tasty bites and fresh made cocktails served all day. On the marble kitchen top we created an installation with iconic candle holders and wooden boxes filled with inspiration.
Thank you Hoxton and all attendees for a wonderful and inspiring day!

Let’s meet at the Hoxton Design Event
As promised in our previous blog post about the Shelter we are happy to show you the images of the Vipp loft! This hotel room is a concept created by Studio David Thulstrup. Situated on the top floor of the Vipp office in a former printing factory from 1910 at Island Brygge. Located only 10 minutes from the center of Copenhagen. Close to the harbor with bakeries, coffee-shops and restaurants within walking distance.
I was struck by the amazing space: 400 square meters filled with Vipp design and great styling items as you can see in our photos. I immediately loved the warm brown tones of the wooden details and vintage ceramics in combination with the black kitchen en graphic look and feel. Also the combination with other brands like By Lassen and curtains from the Danish Kvadrat company. The warm and soft fabrics give you a home feeling. The amount and thickness of the beams are impressive. it gives the loft character and a unique style.
The loft is so big you could get lost. With - of course - the fully equipped Vipp kitchen area with open shelves, a lounge with a fireplace, two bedrooms areas and a library on the mezzanine. Accessible via a spiral iron staircase in the living. There is one en-suite bedroom with an enviable freestanding bath and rain shower (where we were spoiled with the fine Aesop products!) the second bedroom is under the rooftop in a cozy dark nook with a small window.
In the morning, just before we left to discover the shelter, the beautiful Scandinavian morning light emerged itself. We could not resist creating a quick flat lay on the floor with Vipp ceramics, dark wooden spoons, Himla textiles and my current favorite Nordic cookbook by Noma.
Today’s blog post on Vosgesparis and our w/ Style website provide more inspiration and stories about this wonderful hotel space. We love to travel, so if you have a beautiful hotel space you want to see captured by us and being featured in our ’Travel w/ Style’ selection, blogs and portfolio don’t hesitate to contact us!

Vipp Shelter Sweden
Still in the afterglow of our visit to the Vipp shelter in January, we start February with a design event at the Hoxton Hotel in Amsterdam coming Sunday. During this Hox How To event w/ Style agency will style the ‘Apartment space’ next to our participation in a panel talk. The Apartment is where the event will take place: an innovative meeting space with an intimate kitchen area and cosy courtyard filled with greens.
Hox How To - Hone Your Eye for Interiors
The festival day is part of the global series #HoxHowTo by the Hoxton Hotels. All events are all geared up towards empowering and equipping people to take their interests in a cultural discipline to the next level. In Amsterdam the festival is dedicated to design. With the theme ‘Hone Your Eye for Interiors’ we will take part in a panel discussion along with other players in the interior industry.
We will showcase our special selected Travel w/ Style collection of products. Also, we will create a stylish atmosphere with our favourite interior and design brands. We are very happy to collaborate with the following brands: Frama, Moebe, Paper Collective, SPRDLX, Miscellaneous, Just Right, Pillah, Leff Amsterdam, Elle Decoration, Nomess and Marie Stella Maris.
Balancing form and function in your home
There are several masterclasses and panel debates moderated by Margot of Mae and Many. w/ Style will take part in the panel talk with the design team of Made.com. We will talk about the perfect balance between form and function. Whether balancing the space symmetrically, asymmetrically or radially, considering natural light falls against shade, textures that bring points of relief and the way the space responds to movement. Next to this, we are looking forward to the promising debates from Hello Frankie, Patrick Kooijman of Interiorator, Nicemakers and Fortunata.
Our favourite Dutch bookstore Athenaeum will pop up at the lobby to showcase their curation of interior design books and magazines. Get your inspiration on how to style your design reads as part of your home styling in the w/ Style apartment area.
We would love to meet you coming Sunday!
Sunday 4 February 11 am - 7:30 pm, Hoxton Hotel Herengracht 255 Amsterdam

w/ Style selected at the Hoxton Amsterdam
Very pleased and proud to kick off our Travel w/ Style project with a very special visit it to Denmark and Sweden. We love to travel and in our Travel w/ Style section we share our curated selection of hotels, places and travel products we love. On invitation of Danish Kitchen manufacturer Vipp, Desiree from Vosgesparis and I recently visited two amazing Vipp hotel locations to experience the brand new Loft and Shelter.
An experience it was! We started our trip with a stormy flight from Amsterdam to Copenhagen. Our first night was at the Loft in the city of Copenhagen. I was surprised by the huge space and beautiful styling. We will share the Loft pictures in an upcoming blog post next week.
A night in the wild
First, more about our second day. After waking up in Copenhagen, we drove over the ‘Øresundbron’ to Sweden for a night in the wild. Curious and excited to finally see the Vipp Shelter in real. After a two hour drive, we reached the Swedish forest and I felt right at home. We both were captured by the beauty and the stillness of the surrounding.
As soon as we entered the shelter it felt warm and welcome. The interior and the dark grey felt walls provide a cozy feeling and the glass walls give you the feeling to live directly in nature. All you need is included in the 55 square meter steel shelter: kitchen, dining, relax corner, bathroom and a sleeping room upstairs. Including Vipp furniture and accessories, like lamps, the Vipp bin, nice thick towels and their beautiful ceramics. I can imagine it would be great to have all the glass walls open when days are getting longer and warmer. We lit up the fireplace and opened the champagne to celebrate our new company and this very special experience in the shelter.
Even though I had seen the Vipp kitchen in real before while teaching a photography and styling masterclass in the beautiful Vipp concept store in Copenhagen. I was happy to live in the kitchen for a day, it gave me the opportunity to enjoy the functionality. Already loved all the sophisticated details and minimal look! After a nice evening I fell asleep under the glass ceiling and dark sky. Waking up with a great view over lake Immeln.
Book your getaway
At the Vipp website you can find all the information about the shelter and book your own getaway. Next week, we share our Vipp Loft pictures and tell about our stay at this amazing city hideaway. Also check today’s blog post on Vosgesparis and w/ Style for more pictures and inspiration!
