December Moments

In December I like to do something extra at home, as most people do. I used to have a big Christmas tree, but since I live in a small city apartment I keep it minimal with lots of candlelight. This also has to do with my taste that has been changed in recent years. Now I love to add some extra details and use home decoration accessories I can use throughout the year. I also felt more uncomfortable to use a tree for just one week and then throw it away. Instead, I found a cute 20 cm little ‘tree’. I will keep it as a plant after the festive season so I can use it again next year. And maybe it will be a little bigger by then.

For decoration, I like to use Items that can easily be transformed depending on the occasion. That’s why the hanging tealights by Ferm Living are so perfect. The design is minimal and timeless. They also provide an atmospheric and warm light. The hanging tealights are available in two different shapes: oval and a bigger round version. Both designed by Trine Andersen, founder of Ferm Living since 2005. A Danish brand specialized in small home furniture and accessories with a versatile and innovative collection: simple, functional, sustainable, high quality with a graphic and traditional Scandinavian look. The tealight holder is made of solid brass, whether or not finished with a black powder coating. To use on the wall or in front of a window. Or hanging from the ceiling as I did. One tealight or a few grouped in different heights.

Since January is mostly a grey month with shorts days over here, I will keep using the tealight holders and style them in a different way after December. I love to do this on New Years Day. It became a kind of tradition: making small changes around the house creating new still lifes for a fresh and inspiring start of the new year.

Last but not least: I wish you a very Happy New Year! Wen x
